Council is currently recruiting for a Library Officer in Emerald. We are looking for a customer service champion who excels at delivering excellent service. This is a varied role and includes library operations, administration,  accounts and processing of invoices, digital marketing, facilities monitoring, as well as facilitating programs, services and events in the community.

Due to the varied nature of this role, there will be a roster which is developed monthly, with alternating shifts either working 8.22am to 5.00pm or 9.22am to 6.00pm. Some weekend shifts may be required to cover events and staff leave.

Library Officers are responsible for providing efficient and effective public library services in alignment with the Library’s Strategy and Action Plan.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • Competency in a wide range of Microsoft programs
  • Previous experience in customer service, accounts receivable and payable, libraries and/or related disciplines such as community work (development or engagement); museum work; event and program planning and delivery
  • Queensland Working with Children card or willing to obtain
  • Qld Open Drivers Licence
