Want a job where Invercargill gardens are your office? Get your hands dirty and dig into a role with Parks Operations!

With your genuine interest in horticulture and passion for working outdoors with plants, you will be responsible for all aspects of ornamental, horticultural, general gardening and maintenance work in Invercargill.

Proven experience in garden maintenance is required and your dedication to providing quality workmanship to our clients will be important to you. A formal qualification in horticulture and a current New Zealand driver's license is also essential in this role.

Previous experience in traffic management including a Traffic Controller or Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) certificate would be an advantage but is not essential.

In return, we offer you a good level of remuneration; provide your tools and wet weather gear, and encouragement to further develop your skills.

At Invercargill City Council we pride ourselves on our values - positivity, respect, responsibility and above and beyond. Finding the right fit for our team is really important to us and we work hard to provide an environment reflective of these values.

The Invercargill City Council is committed to the wellbeing and protection of children, the elderly and vulnerable adults. As a component of this role involves interaction with one or more of the above groups, as part of the assessment of candidates, we will require police vetting as per the Children's Act 2014 and a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test to ensure we are providing a safe environment for our customers and members of the public.
