Chef Manager



The Lilliane Brady Village, is a 44-bed residential aged care facility in far western NSW, owned and operated by Cobar Shire Council. 

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced chef with a Certificate III Commercial Cookery who has a calm and methodical approach to managing a small team of catering staff.  We are looking for somebody who has the ability and willingness to oversee the catering services provided to residents of the facility and patients of the Cobar Health Service, whilst supporting and inspiring the team to consistently deliver high quality, customer focused outcomes.

To be considered for this role, the candidate will have

  • Previous experience managing the provision of quality, nutritious and well-presented meals in line with aged care food service guidelines
  • A hands-on approach to leadership to build empowered staff and a positive culture
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of quality assurance and food safety standards
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and negotiation skills
  • Experience in training, supporting and mentoring catering staff to continuously improve with proven success in managing change
  • Aged care experience would be highly regarded

This full-time position is Monday to Friday, working a 38-hour week over a 19-day month (one RDO a month).  We are offering a salary of $70,000 ($35.42/hr) plus relocation assistance, subsidised housing, superannuation and applicable allowances in accordance with the Nursing Home &c Nurses (State) Award.
