The Role
Reporting to the Manager Governance you will be responsible for coordinating and administering the Town of Port Hedland’s Legal function including; providing legal advice to Council and staff, drafting and review legal documents, conducting negotiations on behalf of the Town, and representing the Town in court.
Our ideal candidate is an expert in the application of law within Local Government with particular knowledge of planning, building, and environmental regulatory processes. In addition to extensive experience and knowledge in conflict resolution, negotiations, and court proceedings you will need to possess high level communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, and analytical skills to succeed in this role.
Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Law
- Admission to practice in WA
- National Police Clearance
- Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
