About the role An exciting opportunity is now available to join Town’s Environmental Health team within the Regulatory Services directorate. This role is responsible for undertaking Council’s regulatory functions under the Food Act 2008, Public Health Act 2016, Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1911, Environmental Protection Act 1986 and Caravan Parks and Camping Grounds Act 1995. Overall, this role provides environmental health services at the Town of Port Hedland Council municipality which result in the improved health, safety and well-being of the wider community through surveillance, educational and enforcement activities.
As a Senior Environmental Health Officer, you will provide a comprehensive consultancy and advisory service to the senior staff members and key external stakeholders on environmental issues that may impact on key operational and strategic decisions. You will deliver a high-quality service that is responsive, solution-focused, accurate and tailored to meet the needs of the Pilbara.
The successful person will demonstrate practical application and communication of contemporary environmental health knowledge through partnering with customers and constructive contribution in a team environment.
About you To be successful in this role, you will hold a Bachelor degree of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent, with subsequent relevant work experience. You will also have:
