- 9 day working fortnight (8.5hrs per day)
Horsham Rural City Council is a vibrant community situated in the heart of the Wimmera region of Victoria, approximately 300 kilometres north-west of Melbourne with a population of 19,880.
Horsham is the major provider of retail, community and government services in the Wimmera, with dryland and broadacre agriculture being our major industry. There is a range of quality educational and health care facilities including secondary colleges, a university and an agricultural college.
The region has excellent natural and cultural facilities including the Horsham Town Hall and Gallery, the Wimmera River, Mount Arapiles and the Grampians National Park.
Horsham is well-known for its extensive network of well-maintained parks, gardens and outdoor environments. It has a history of outstanding success in the Keep Victoria Beautiful Awards program.
We are looking for someone with experience and passion for gardening and general labour to provide labour and support services to both the Botanics and HRLE Units.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the appropriate maintenance and presentation of the Botanic Gardens
- Clean and wash down yards for stock sales at the Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange (HRLE)
Qualifications and experience include:
- Basic Horticultural knowledge and interest
- Basic knowledge of livestock handling
