Georges River Council is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Communications Officer to join our dynamic and busy Communications and Engagement team.
The Opportunity The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation for the development, positive positioning and ongoing management of the Council’s image and reputation. The public relations objectives will focus on building understanding and support for the Council, as well as influencing positive opinion and behaviour from potential stakeholders. The communications objectives are to develop and implement innovative and effective communications strategies to promote Council projects, programs, events and activities, and to support internal communications plans. This role works in a small team that creates and manages the content for Council's website, intranet, Community e-newsletter, Community magazine, and internal newsletters. You will write media releases, media statements and media responses. As Council transitions to more digital communications you will develop content for the social media channels and you will help create content for the Council YouTube channel.
