Administration Officer Statutory Compliance


  • Temporary Fixed Term (12 months), Full Time Position 

  • Salary range $61,888 to $65,964 per annum, plus 9.5% superannuation

Your duties will include assisting to prepare Council meeting/briefing agendas and Minutes and arranging their distribution. You will be an approachable and collaborative person who will attend Council Meetings/Assemblies to record and publish minutes.  Your other functions will be to assist in the administration of general governance responsibilities including: maintaining and updating relevant registers, delegations, subscriptions, Council policies and management procedures as directed by your supervisor. Your daily functions may see you having contact with Councillors, Senior Officers and members of the public. 

 

Qualifications and experience 

  • Experience in a Governance and/or administration environment.  

  • Experience in being part of a broader administration team delivering quality services within strict timelines and to a high standard. 

  • A relevant Administrative qualification or relevant experience in a range of reception / clerical / administrative roles in an office environment, ideally within the areas of Local Government, Governance or the Public Sector 

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Qualifications and experience as listed above. 

  • Demonstrated ability to champion, model and promote the corporate values. 

  • Experience in preparing and administering technical and complicated ‘minutes’ and ‘agendas’. 

  • Understanding of responsibilities associated with board level and committee reporting 

  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and contribute to the team environment. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that deliver high levels of customer service. 

  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of a variety of Windows based applications and databases. 

  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
