Management Accountant

  • Band 7 salary range: $96,794 to $104,429 plus 9.5% Super
  • Full time, 1-year temporary position (project based role)
  • St Kilda or during COVID-19 Pandemic, with ELT/DHHS direction, this role is able to work from home and is predominantly based online.

About the Organisation

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.  

About the Role

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Management Accountant / Business Partner to work within the dynamic and vibrant Finance Department.

You will be an excellent communicator with a sound understanding of business partnering and demonstrated financial analytical and provide financial management support to Councils senior management.

Key Priorities during this time include:

  • Liaising with all levels of Management from the Executive Managers, Manager, Head of Business units and peers
  • Monthly financial reporting focusing on attention to detail and clear presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to customer service issues and propose improvements

Skills and Experience

  • Several year’s experience in Management Accounting/ Business Partnering role
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality management principles, processes and procedures.
  • Strong financial analytical skills with a sound knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis.
  • Technology One experience preferred but not essential
  • Degree qualified and Ideally hold or working towards CPA qualification.
