Research and Data Analytics Advisor• Band 7 plus 9.5% Super • Full-time position • St Kilda location, working from home during COVID-19 restrictions About the Organisation The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role This is a newly created role in our new Integrated Community Service Planning and Review team.. The role of Research and Data Analytics Advisor ensures Council decision-making is informed by data and evidence about how our community is changing and what our community needs. Duties: • Maintain, analyse and interpret demographic and service needs data to identify trends and forecast impacts on the City of Port Phillip community • Provide specialist advice on research, data analytics and management and evaluation • Work collegiately with colleagues and stakeholders to embed research and data analysis practices across the organisation Skills and Experience • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in social sciences or a related field and at least four years relevant experience • High quality data management and analytical skills that can be applied to a range of economic, social, cultural, environmental and urban planning issues • Experience with data analysis tools including ABS table Builder, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SPSS or equivalent and Geographic Information Systems • Ability to prepare reports incorporating data and analysis to inform decision making and make research accessible to a range of stakeholders. • Team player with strong interpersonal and networking skills Culture People enjoy working at the City of Port Phillip because we are a welcoming, healthy and inclusive workplace.
