About the position:
The Mullewa District Office is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join their team. This is a permanent part time position working 15.2 hours per week, spread over three days from Wednesday to Friday. The Customer Service Officer is the face of the Mullewa District Office, aiming to maximise resolution at the first point of contact and deliver a premium experience to the customers. This role is responsible for providing accurate, concise and timely information to the general public in all areas of the City business.
Key accountabilities:
- As the customer-interfacing “face” of the City of Greater Geraldton, deliver a consistent and responsive customer experience via range of delivery methods, including face-to-face, email and phone to all internal and external customers.
- Address a range of customer requests in all areas of activity determining their needs and requirements, servicing their expectations and providing effective timely solutions, escalating enquiries through to specialist staff where necessary.
- Proactively enhance customer’s knowledge of the City’s offerings and provide them with the skills and abilities to find critical information and self-serve if they so choose.
- Undertake Mullewa District Office Library services duties including but not limited to issuing and discharging Library material, shelve and maintain order of Library materials, as well as input and update Library records accurately and actively promoting the use of Library services.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will ideally have a Certificate IV in Business Administration, Customer Contact or Business, and demonstrated customer service experience, including the ability to establish positive relationships with customers, determine and address customer requirements.
The successful applicant should also possess sound level of office administration skills including the ability to handle cash, perform daily banking reconciliation, process payments and input and manage customer information.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $63,792 per annum pro rata or $32.2833 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
