Community Inclusion Officer
This position sits within the Engaged Communities business units in City of Ballarat’s Community Wellbeing Division. It is responsible for the promotion of community capacity building through services, programs and activities that enhance the quality and diversity of lifestyle opportunities for the residents of Ballarat.
The primary function of the role is to provide opportunities and to support isolated and marginalised community members engage and participate local decision-making with Council and across the broader Ballarat community. This role will advocate for and provide support to those with disabilities and their families and the LGBTIQ community. It will also continue to support Council’s ongoing work around gender equality.
The successful candidate will have experience in working with community groups and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, along with strong project management, data collection and analysis skills.
Key Selection Criteria

Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of issues specific to people with disabilities.

Significant experience supporting marginalised community members in the development and delivery of projects and initiatives.

Experience leading, facilitating or participating in Committees and Advisory Groups.

High level communication skills, including the ability to present information in a logical and audience sensitive manner.

Ability to engage and liaise effectively within the organisations, with service providers and the wider community
