Senior Works Supervisor

About Hilltops Council and the South West Slopes

Hilltops Council was established on May 12, 2016 and includes the former councils of Boorowa, Harden and Young. Supporting over 20,000 people, Council's highest priority is to ensure continued and consistent delivery of the many local services valued by these communities.

Hilltops Council is located within the South West Slopes region of NSW which runs from the lower inland slopes of the Great Dividing Range extending from north of Cowra through southern NSW into western Victoria. This is a beautiful part of NSW with wineries, vineyards, cherry orchards and gourmet food shops just some of the local attractions that draw tourists to the region each year. Located between one and a half and two hours from Canberra, Hilltops offers a great country lifestyle, just a hop, skip and a jump from the city.

(Permanent, full-time 76-hour nine-day fortnight, $88k - $97k TRP + potential for market allowance of up to $10k p.a.)

  • Are you looking for an opportunity to manage and supervise construction jobs at a senior level in a beautiful part of NSW and as part of a busy regional Council?
  • Do you have significant construction management experience and aptitude in sealed and unsealed road construction?
  • Are you committed to driving quality outcomes from projects within tight timeframes and budgets, and are you able to lead those around you in a way that encourages high performance and commitment?

If you answered ‘yes’ to the above, please read on...

Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join its Infrastructure team and provide high-level oversight of construction and maintenance works crews within the Young region of Hilltops Council, and, as Senior Works Supervisor, provide support to other Works Supervisors across Hilltops as needed.

As direct Supervisor of our Urban and Rural Site Supervisors and indirect supervisor to more than 50 staff, you will need to have exceptional leadership skills and communication skills to elevate those under your direction so that the unit and all teams work together to drive Council’s works programs.

You will need to have significant construction experience, both at an operations and supervisory level, but you must also be learned in the administrative and planning aspects of construction projects, including cost-estimating, budgeting, setting-out plans, and managing delivery timeframes. On-site, you should be a flexible leader who can adapt to change, and take responsibility for your decisions, as you will be relied upon as the central point of contact for the crew at any given time.
