Swim Teacher - Splash Palace

We live in a country surrounded by water, the majority of our population live in close proximity to it and for many, it's our playground, whether we're swimming, boating, fishing or involved in some other water sports. Swimming is a vital life skill and one that someday may mean the difference between life and death.
The Invercargill City Council are looking for two vibrant, passionate and dedicated Swim Teachers to join our team at Splash Palace on a permanent part-time basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing all of our swim school customers with effective, high-quality Learn-to-Swim instruction and contributing towards this important life skill. A commitment to exceptional customer service and the ability to communicate well with people of various age ranges is vital as our Learn-to-Swim customers consist of infants and children, but also adults.
Successful applicants will hold or be willing to obtain their New Zealand Assistant Swim Teacher Award and First Aid Certificate. Previous experience in Learn-to-Swim teaching or working with children in a coaching role is desirable but not essential. Full training in our Learn-to-Swim programme will be provided. Your positive "can do" attitude and proven ability to work with a diverse range of customers will set you apart!

You must be willing to work to a roster issued on a programme-by-programme basis, which will include split shifts, mornings, evenings and weekends.

As a component of this role involves interaction with one or more of the above groups, as part of the assessment of candidates, we will require Police Vetting as per the Children's Act 2014 and a Pre-employment Alcohol and Drug Screening test to ensure we are providing a safe environment for our customers and members of the public.
