Are you a driven and dedicated project officer seeking that new challenge in your career?This Project Officer – Community Development role presents a rare and exciting opportunity for you to lead a wide variety of projects. Working within a dynamic team under new leadership team, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of various projects, including project plans, policies and solutions and contributes to issue resolution and escalation, research, analysis activities and planning and monitoring activities relevant to the Community Development operations.If you have an adaptable, driven personality with high levels of initiative, creativity, communication and interpersonal skills, then we want to talk to you! 

The position will be based in Port Hedland, a town of rich heritage, spectacular landscapes, friendliness, a diverse and embracing community and relaxed lifestyle. As the largest bulk export port in the world, the town is home to global resource leaders and is significant to the national interest.

About you

We are looking for a resilient and adaptable community engagement professional who has degree qualification in Project Management or has equivalent demonstrated experience in project management, community engagement or similar role.

As the project officer, you will be required to support the community engagement, youth services and sports/facilities teams in the areas projects, strategy and consultation. The role will be varied and contribute to building strong relationships with local service providers and delivering good community outcomes.

The ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with experience in community engagement methodologies and best practice. They will have a successful track record in managing small projects, forums and/or workshop events.

The applicant will also be required to undergo a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or similar, or equivalent demonstrated experience
