Contract Technician (Core Services)

Our Engineering Services Group (ESG) is an in-house consultancy whose focus is to design solutions for engineering projects that benefit our ratepayers, residents and visitors - put simply when it comes to engineering ESG is a one-stop-shop!


In this role, you'll be part of our responsive and supportive team assisting in the running of the Council's infrastructure. Your keen interest in engineering and contract management will be put to good use immediately with plenty of opportunities for on the job learning and development.


Working in the Core Services team, the Contract Technician is responsible for assisting with contract management and supervision of contracts, in the 3 Waters, Roading and Transportation, and Solid Waste disciplines. This position will have a primary focus on the Solid Waste discipline.


The successful candidate will have (or be working towards) a New Zealand Diploma in Engineering or similar qualification, and industry experience in 3 Waters networks, Roading and Transportation or Solid Waste would be an advantage but is not essential. Building strong working relationships will be a breeze with your exceptional communication skills being well utilised when dealing with contractors, the public and Council clients.
