Mullewa Town General Hand (Ref: 589)

About the position:
The Mullewa Town Leading Hand provides day-to-day supervision and leadership to the Town Maintenance crew, and is responsible for the provision of parks, reserves and general town maintenance services to the Mullewa district.
 
Key accountabilities:

  • Parks and reserves maintenance including mowing, watering, fertilising, pruning, planting and reticulation;
  • General town site maintenance including road and path sweeping, path repair, verge reinstatement and general maintenance duties;
  • Cost tracking of fortnightly expenditure on parks, reserves and reticulation works;
  • Provide direction, leadership and technical support for direct reports including coordinating materials and equipment for use by the team;
  • Ensure that all work undertaken by team is to a high standard and within budget and agreed timeframes.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will have relevant trade qualifications, experience in the maintenance of parks, gardens and reserves and demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a small team.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $63,792 per annum or $32.2833 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
