Senior Development Construction Inspector

Mackay Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join a passionate and energetic team as Senior Development Construction Inspector.

About the opportunity:

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring development works are constructed in accordance with Operational Works permits and legislation through the review of documentation and site inspections including the resolution of issues identified during construction.

The successful applicant will provide mentoring and technical advice to other members of the team and contribute to the development, review and implementation of policies and procedures including the development guidelines and specifications.

 

About you:

Your skills will allow you to engage as part of a team to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  Your experience will lie in the construction and inspection of all aspects of civil infrastructure, coupled with a desire to positively influence the outcomes for the community and the development industry.

To be successful in this role you will need strong discipline/specialist skills to inspect construction of public infrastructure (including roads, drainage, landscaping, water and sewer) to relevant standards, guidelines and specifications.  A high level of verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate with consultants, contractors and the public.  You will need Certificate IV in Civil Construction or trade qualification or equivalent qualification and have demonstrated experience in the construction of a range of civil infrastructure works.
