About the role

Council is seeking a diligent, self-motivated professional to join the Environment and Waste Branch. This position is part of a team whom are responsible for ensuring legislative compliance with public and environmental health activities within the community. This position will also prioritise, investigate and respond to customer requests. The successful applicant will have the ability to interpret legislation, negotiate, research, and demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills and experience

**Please address the following key selection criteria items below, as part of your application**

  • Ability to interpret and apply State, Local and Federal legislation and Standards that relate to Environmental Health.
  •  Sound level of negotiation, research, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain positive and effective partnerships with internal and external customers. 

  • Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision, set own goals and priorities, monitor progress and outputs and also function as part of a team. At times you need the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • High level of written, keyboard and computer skills including sound working knowledge of MS Office Suite, and the ability to become proficient in corporate software programs.
