Registered or Enrolled Nurse - Regional, Queensland
About the Role
Based within the Western Downs Regional Council, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of a high standard of care in an atmosphere where all residents are made to feel valued members of the facility and community.
Operating within the Health Services Department, you will:
have a thorough understanding of Aged and Community Health Care;
provide clinical care of the aging person and delivery of nursing care;
provide temporary relief during staff absences;
comply with all relevant Workplace Health and Safety legislation;
be familiar with the Aged Care Accreditation Standards including an understanding of continuous quality improvement; and
demonstrate commitment to WDRC Values.
REGISTERED NURSE
Key Responsibilities
This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:
Practicing in accordance with the law, policies and procedures affecting RN practice, ensuring that all relevant legislative requirements pertaining to care delivery are complied with at all times, and ensuring staff awareness of those requirements;
Accepting accountability and responsibility for your own actions;
Ensuring plans for care are developed and reviewed in consultation with health professionals, staff, clients / residents and/or representatives ensuring comprehensive assessment, prevention, early detection, referral and health promotion; and
Providing clinical leadership in the co-ordination of evidence-based quality care, including the delegation of team resources.
ENROLLED NURSE
Key Responsibilities
This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:
Practicing in accordance with the law, policies and procedures affecting EN practice;
Accepting accountability and responsibility for your own actions;
Interpreting information from a range of sources in order to contribute to planning appropriate care;
Collaborating with the RN, resident / EPOA and the healthcare team when developing plans of care; and
Communicating and using documentation both paper based and electronic to inform and report care.
About you
The successful applicant will have:
a current registration with the Australian Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
a current flu vaccination record, senior first aid certificate and be willing to undergo a National Police Criminal History Check;
the ability to communicate and ensure that client activities and other appropriate information is documented, in line with professional and legal standards; and
experience with delivering and actively promoting a holistic approach to care.
