Reporting Lines The position reports to the Director of Engineering and Environmental Services. Location The position is based at the Lockhart Shire Council Administration building situated at 65 Green Street Lockhart NSW 2646. Salary and Conditions Employment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2020. For the purposes of the skill descriptors outlined in the Award the position has been placed in Band 3 – Administrative Band. Pursuant to the Award the Council has adopted a Salary Structure comprising 26 Grades with five salary steps within each Grade. The position of Manager of Planning & Building Services has been placed at Grade 18 to Grade 19 depending on experience, with a salary range of $1,688.25 to $2,074.46 per week. It should also be noted that Lockhart Shire Council has chosen to be covered by the Local Government (COVID-19) Splinter (Interim) Award 2020. The Award shall apply on an interim basis for twelve (12) months from 8 April 2020. The purpose of the Interim Award is to provide more flexibility in how Council’s respond to the Covid-19 pandemic and to support job retention. Where there is an inconsistency between the Local Government (State) Award 2020 and the Interim Award, the latter will prevail. Hours of Work Lockhart Shire Council is currently trialling a nine-day fortnight. The objective of a nine-day fortnight is for employees to work 70 hours over a period of nine weekdays to allow one rostered day off work each fortnight. Accordingly, the hours of work during the six month trial period are 8.30am to 5.00pm with 43 minutes for lunch. At the end of the trial period the nine-day fortnight arrangement will be reviewed in consultation with the Award Staff Consultative Committee to determine if, or under what terms and conditions, the nine-day fortnight arrangement will continue. If following the review it is determined that the nine-day fortnight will not continue the hours of work will revert to the pre-existing 19-day month arrangement. The hours of work under the 19-day month arrangement are 8.30am to 4.47pm with 45 minutes for lunch.
