An exciting opportunity exists for motivated and highly experienced self-starters to join the multi-tasked Community Enforcement branch within Council’s Community Regulatory Services division.

As an Enforcement Officer, you must have a minimum of three years experience in the capturing, handling and transporting of companion animals as well as investigative experience in evidence gathering of dog attacks incidents reported to Council. Enforcement Officers are also required to administer and enforce compliance in an ethical and equitable manner. This is achieved through effective detection, investigation and resolution of matters pertaining to Acts, Legislation, Codes, Policy and Statutory Obligations as listed under the positions delegated authority and in conjunction with Council’s values and vision.

The position reports matters affecting Councils risk management and public liability to Council, customers and stakeholders. Enforcement Officers are at all times to act with integrity, impartiality and compassion in the provision of prompt quality service.

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 76 hours per fortnight.
  • 5 weeks annual leave in accordance with the NSW Local Government State Award.
  • This position is a Grade 4 salary starting at $64,397 p.a. (entry level) with progression to

    $69,344 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $75,431 p.a.

  • Working a fortnightly rotating roster with eligibility for penalty shift rates for weekend work of 50% for Saturday and 100% for Sunday.
  • Working hours range from 5am to 10pm, Monday – Sunday.
  • Full Uniform is provided.
  • A work related mobile telephone is provided.
  • Dual cabin utility lease back vehicle is available.
