Base Salary Range $114,709 to $123,175 plus super

Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent full-time role of Manager City Development & Planning.

This role will allow you to showcase your suite of experiences as they relate to urban and regional planning matters along with and oversight role in managing the City’s compliance activities inclusive of building, health, parking, and companion animals, applying them in a constructive and proactive manner with the customer at the heart of the teams approach.

Reporting directly to the General Manager you will be performing in a strategic and operational capacity and be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans, programs, policies and procedures specific to the development and growth of your portfolio. As a member of Broken Hill City Council’s senior leadership team, the Manager City Development & Planning will play a key role in driving Council’s Delivery Program by providing leadership on complex issues, strategy, and operational performance.

In addition to managing organisational wide development & compliance programs, providing professional advice, and overseeing departmental projects the Manager City Development & Planning will take an active role in exhibiting and leading the Councils values and behaviours based leadership model, managing employee performance and development against that  model, and be the key contact between department staff and the Executive Leadership Team.

In the carrying out of your duties and activities you will ensure prompt, accurate and cost-effective service delivery and efficient implementation of legislative and regulatory compliance.

A key component of the position will be to enhance Council’s public image through responsive and effective liaison and communication with the community, businesses and other stakeholders.
