This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of truck and heavy plant for road construction and maintenance projects and for providing a high standard of operational and maintenance labouring skills throughout the Tablelands Region.

• This position requires vast maintenance grading experience including but not limited to; heavy, medium and light formation grading, as well as, drainage clearing and reinstatement.
• The terrain traversed for program delivery is hilly and steep therefore the operator requires confidence and knowledge of the machine.
• Strong leadership skills are required to successfully direct the roller and water truck operators for efficient and cost effective delivery.
• Succinct communication with the Foreman and Coordinator is essential regarding projected time frames of completion, gravel requirements and improvement suggestions.
• During the wet season the position assists with Road Maintenance labouring tasks that include, but not limited to; bitumen patching, road furniture repairs, maintenance and installation, vegetation control, traffic control and other off-side labour tasks.
