• 8 day working fortnight (9.5hrs per day)

Horsham Rural City Council is a vibrant community situated in the heart of the Wimmera region of Victoria, approximately 300 kilometres north-west of Melbourne with a population of 19,880.

Horsham is the major provider of retail, community and government services in the Wimmera, with dryland and broad acre agriculture being our major industry. There are a range of quality educational and health care facilities including secondary colleges, a university and an agricultural college.

The region has excellent natural and cultural facilities including the Horsham Town Hall and Gallery, the Wimmera River, Mount Arapiles and the Grampians National Park.

We are looking for someone with experience and passion for truck driving to provide plant operation support to the Trees and Environment Unit and other areas of the Operations Department as the need arises.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Provide plant operating support for the general maintenance of trees within road reserves, parks and other Council properties
• Assist to carry out general arboricultural practices and gardening and landscaping activities

Qualifications and experience include:

• Energysafe Victoria endorsed and authorised Tree Clearance by non-electrical personnel authority
• Level One Chainsaw operator's certificate.
