Scientific Client Liaison



Mackay Regional Council has an opportunity for a suitably qualified Scientific Client Liaison to join our Water Treatment team, based at the new Laboratory on Connor’s Road, Paget.

The Role

Working in the MRC's NATA accredited laboratory, this position coordinates the implementation of the business and marketing plan to attract new business and customers, with a focus on enhancing service provision and to extend new services to increase revenue with existing customers. The position is a key source of knowledge for a range of stakeholders including Mackay Regional Council, Managers Program Supervisors, employees and Government and Industry bodies. 

 

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Degree in Applied Science majoring in Chemistry and/or Microbiology or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution. 
  • Significant experience and competence to provide technical advice as it relates to scientific and analytical services and environmental and legislative requirements.
  • Current General Construction Safety White/Blue Card.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a water and waste organisation and/or water or environmental NATA accredited laboratory.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and positive stakeholder engagement.

  • Annual base salary range from $97,691 - $106,055
