Public Safety & Crime Prevention Advisor
THINGS WE’LL TRUST YOU WITH:
Develop, implement and evaluate of a wide range of public safety and crime prevention strategies which aim to reduce crime and increase perceptions of safety throughout the Sutherland Shire.
Conduct crime assessments on hot spot locations in partnership with the NSW Police.
Meet strategic and business plan goals through budget allocation management and seek additional external resources through grant writing.
Work with the Police, urban design experts, youth workers and other stakeholders towards implementing proactive strategies to address public / community safety and crime reduction issues.
Co-ordinate Council’s response on Liquor Licensing applications, liquor licence enquiries and providing internal input on Development Application referrals for licensed premises.
Work within the state framework for Community Safety and Crime Prevention to achieve local priorities.
Provide crime and crowded place risk assessments on specified Council and external events in public space.
Provide crime prevention, community and public safety advice to internal and external customers.
Provide strategic and technical expertise to ensure consideration of applicable CPTED strategies, standards and legislation across the organisation especially in regard to land use and building controls, public place design.
