Manager Development EngineeringPermanent Full Time At Fraser Coast Regional Council our people are our most important asset and central to achieving our vision to Build Better Communities. The successful applicant will facilitate quality planning outcomes that support the economic development of the Fraser Coast region. You will do this by leading and managing the Development Engineering Team, four technical experts, through development assessment and construction inspections services within the area. Your overall objective will be to ensure all projects and services are delivered on time, within budget and help achieve sustainable and consistent outcomes that reflect the Council’s vision and community expectations. An impressive development engineering background within either the public or private sectors will have given you a thorough understanding of all relevant Local Government policies and processes. Your approach is very much ‘hands-on’, decisive and results focused, but you are equally adept at high level strategic planning, financial/budget management and team leadership and development. Building strong, collaborative working relationships with external partners will be an integral part of the role, so your confidence, professionalism and exceptional communication skills will allow you to quickly build credibility and engagement at every level. You will have relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering and preferably RPEQ Certification or eligibility to apply, along with a deep understanding of policy and local planning schemes under the Planning Act 2014. This position would suit a Development Engineer with team leadership experience looking to make that next big step in their career.
