The successful applicant will be responsible for the mobile waste bins on a day-to-day basis according to specified refuse collection routes throughout the region. You will be responsible for collecting any spills of waste during collection and to monitor, repair and replace mobile waste bins. Your responsibilities include ensuring associated plant are kept up to date with maintenance checks and services, and are in good running order and tools are kept in a safe and clean condition. The applicant must have the ability to work in a manner that will provide a safe work environment in accordance with Council’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
A current “MR” class Queensland Licence is mandatory for this position, and have the ability to operate an International Truck and Compactor with demonstrated skill. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work with limited supervision are required. Reliability is an essential quality the successful applicant must possess.
The position is classified as a Level 4 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and offers a cash annual wage of $59,112.76 inclusive of all allowances and leave loading. Superannuation of up to 12% of salary is also available upon commencement. This position offers a nine day fortnight in addition to four (4) weeks annual leave with leave loading of 17.5%.
