Salary and Conditions

  • Permanent Full-Time Position
  • Salary Range $87,600 - $98,596 per annum
  • 9.5% Superannuation
  • 35 Hour Week, with Flex Time system
  • A leaseback vehicle is available with this position however; this is not a condition of employment

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join Council’s Works Section. This position is required to lead and manage Civil Construction Projects, assist in strategy development and implementation and manage various key functions of the Works Section.


Selection Criteria

Essential

  • University qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  • Relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, enable, support and contribute in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff management and development
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of civil works
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise, schedule and deliver engineering maintenance in an environment of competing priorities and expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out risk assessments of assets and conditions and prioritise works accordingly.
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
  • Innovative thinking and analytical problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence

Desirable

  • Experience in either Civil or Building Construction.
  • Experience and/or understanding in Local Government.
