- Permanent, full-time role
- Based in Auckland CBD
- Work with Auckland's decision-makers
We're looking for someone with nous and drive. Someone who's great under pressure, who can juggle a wide-ranging workload and deliver great customer service. And we want someone who's ready to take on a newly-created role in a high-performing team… and make it their own.
You'll also need the confidence and ability to work with anyone: senior stakeholders, politicians, legal experts and representatives from Auckland's diverse communities. Ideally you'll have good existing knowledge of hearings practices and legislation - or at the very least, experience providing policy and strategic advice.
The hearings team plays a critical role in helping Aucklanders have their say on things that affect where they live or work - whatever their background or expertise.
It's a strong, dedicated team of professionals who provide the council's decision makers, stakeholders and the wider council family with quality advice and outstanding administrative support. They deal with cases held under the Resource Management Act, the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and the Local Government Act - including special consultative procedures.
You'll work alongside your colleagues to build strong relationships and use best practice to engage with all hearing participants - enabling a transparent and fair decision-making process.
The senior advisor role is a new one in the team, so as well as running specific hearings, you will:
- help strengthen and streamline our processes
- give specialist advice on processes and legislative requirements
- help coach a high-performing hearings team
- build trust and grow key relationships across all stakeholders.
This is an opportunity to get your teeth into an exciting and challenging role.
