Community Participation Coordinator

About the Role

The Community Participation Coordinator plays a key role in contributing to the creation of a vibrant, inclusive and resilient community through the effective leadership of the Community Participation team.

The role manages a team that includes a range of community activities and events and works with community groups in a variety of fields including Arts and Culture, Heritage, Inclusion, Youth, Seniors, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and Grants. Port Macquarie Hastings Council prides itself on the innovative ways that it works with our community and this position will play a key role.

The Coordinator will, through the management of the team, enhance the opportunity for the Port Macquarie Hastings Community to have input into decisions that impact them and to build the capacity of the community to participate more effectively in our place.

To be successful in this role you will have relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team to maximise public decision making. You will also demonstrate your ability to develop and implement strategic plans and policies, positively influence stakeholders and hold strong research, analysis and communication skills.


This is a full time permanent role, with remuneration in the range of $78,404-$88,244 per annum (depending on skills and experience) for a 35 hour week worked in accordance with Council’s Flexible Working Hours policy, plus 9.5% superannuation.
