Water & Sewer Attendant

The Water & Sewer Attendant is required to provide necessary assistance and support to the Water and Sewer Foreman for the operations, repair, maintenance and construction of both the water and sewer reticulation networks within the town of Cootamundra. Duties will include the replacement and/or maintenance of water meters, connections, pipes and fittings, attending to emergency water main/service bursts and sewer main/service chokes and assisting with quarterly meter reading and data collection using hand held electronic devices.
A vital requirement of this position is to be available for on-call duty and to promptly attend out of hours’ water and sewer service interruptions and breakages. The successful candidate will be responsible for being first point of contact for callouts on a rostered basis with three other Water and Sewer employees and will also be regularly required to back up colleagues in such situations. It will be necessary for the incumbent to reside in Cootamundra or in very close proximity to enable an efficient response time.

The position is permanent full-time and is based in the Cootamundra Depot, reporting to the Water & Sewer Foreman. The Water & Sewer teams are situated within the Department Assets.
