Council is currently looking for an experienced Asphalt Labourer to join our Infrastructure Works team.
This position will be responsible for the construction, repair and maintenance of Council’s civil infrastructure, including road pavements and footpaths, using asphalt and concrete. The ability to operate minor plant such as compactor plates, concrete saws and jackhammers is required whilst undertaking road maintenance.
A large part of this role is road maintenance type patching including excavation by small jackhammer, laying, screeding and finishing using a vibrating plate. You will be responsible for the safety of each worksite through the erection of temporary barricades and control of traffic.
As an Asphalt Labourer you will have the opportunity to take on responsibility and act up into team leader positions when required. You will be part of a team that works well together and takes pride in their work.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Current MR Drivers Licence
- Traffic Control Certificate – Blue
- Demonstrated experience working in an asphaltic environment
