With a particular focus on invasive animals management, the purpose of this role will be to assist the Land Protection branch of Council's Infrastructure Services to achieve and maintain sustainable land use through the management and control of invasive plants and animals under Queensland's Biosecurity Act 2014.
Council has a number of Lands Protection Officers. Some are more focused on invasive plants and other are more focused on pest animals. This position (whilst often requiring work related to invasive plants as well) will be primarily focused on invasive animals management within the team.
Council is seeking qualified and experienced lands protection personnel to offer a solutions-based approach to lands protection management, along with an enthusiastic attitude and a high level of understanding of complex pest management control processes.
