Senior Advisor - Engagement and Education Strategy

About the position

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate and Community Relations, you will be responsible for stakeholder, customer and community engagement and education strategy, planning and advice to support Seqwater's Water Security Program.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the development of a long-term engagement and education strategy to build stakeholder, customer and community understanding of the water cycle, water sources, and future water options.
  • Lead the development of a three-year engagement and education plan to implement the strategy based on best practice and contemporary research and methods.
  • Research and recommend traditional and digital communication and engagement channels and products to support the strategy and plan, with a particular focus on creative and research-based approaches.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field appropriate to the position (engagement, communication, public relations, journalism or community education preferred).
  • Senior level experience (more than 10 years' experience in engagement/communication roles in the corporate or public sector).
  • High level strategy and planning skills and a demonstrated ability to research, consult and develop high quality communication, engagement and education strategies and plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • An understanding (or the ability to quickly gain an understanding) of the water cycle, water sources, and future water options.
  • Knowledge and experience in traditional and digital communication channels and how to use these to effectively communicate to audiences.

This position has been graded in accordance with Seqwater's Certified Agreement as AO7 with a salary of $99,419.13 per annum and up to 12.75% superannuation.
