About the Role

Based in Chinchilla, you will be part of the Utilities Water Treatment team responsible for providing construction and maintenance services and expertise to contribute to the provision of safe water and wastewater for our community. This role is suited for those who hold a Plumber and Drainer licence. 

Reporting to the Utilities Coordinator, you will:

  • perform a variety of construction and maintenance tasks on water mains, water meters, sewer mains, jump ups, manholes and associated fittings;
  • undertake building maintenance on Council infrastructure including swimming pools, deports, offices; and
  • be accountable for recording all paperwork for the completion of works and required log sheets.

About you

The successful applicant will:

  • hold a Plumber Drainer Licence and a Construction Safety White card;
  • have certificates in backflow prevention endorsement, confined space entry, a backhoe ticket, and an MR driver's licence (desirable);
  • be willing to obtain a Certificate III in Water Operations within 2 years of commencing employment;
  • have good time management skills and the capability to complete allocated tasks while working within a team; and
  • enjoy manual labour and applying technical knowledge.
