Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Manager of Community Lifestyle Services to be a key member of our leadership team, shaping a modern council. We want an enthusiastic professional who is a strategic thinker, outcome driven, with the ability to inspire, lead and manage people.

Mackay is located halfway between Brisbane and Cairns and is truly the heart of Queensland, covering 7,621 square kilometres of rainforest, Natural Parks, historic townships, miles of golden beaches and more than 70 tropical islands.

About the role

This role will lead, integrate and coordinate the activities within the Community Lifestyle program to provide efficient and effective service delivery.

The occupant will develop and implement goals, services and programs in relation to Council’s policies in the social, cultural, sport and community-based environments. As well as providing leadership to staff across the program to ensure the establishment and ongoing operation of effective service teams in order to undertake the roles and responsibilities entrusted to the position.

To be successful in this position, you will possess tertiary qualifications in either Human Social Services or a Business related field, have demonstrated ability to adhere to Council’s Corporate Values: Employee Health and Safety, Client Satisfaction, Respect, Teamwork and Accountability. Applicants who hold qualifications in management will be highly regarded.
