Business Support Officer - Procurement

THE POSITION:

The Business Support Officer collaborates with the Business Unit providing administrative, clerical and/or operational support to facilitate the delivery of business objectives.

This position reports to the Procurement Coordinator – Tendering and Contracts, and will support the Procurement team to deliver pro-active procurement strategies to reduce risk across Council in procuring goods and services.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Experience with business unit related software and systems and all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), including Objective(EDRMS) email and internet as well as databases
  • Interpersonal and relationship building skills and experience to facilitate interactions with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels for the provision of administrative, operational or clerical support
  • Ability to apply initiative and problem solve on issues encountered in day-to-day activities and in the support of service delivery to determine and implement an appropriate course of action
  • Communication skills including oral, written and verbal skills, for communication with a diverse range of stakeholders including internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Skills and experience working within a customer service environment with the ability to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction combined with the ability to respond appropriately to customer requests and meet customer service requirements
  • Technical support skills and experience to manage, maintain and utilise databases and information and business systems relevant to the business unity and service delivery area.
  • Organisation, project and time management skills combined with the ability to work unsupervised, handling competing priorities to adapt to fluctuating workloads and changing priorities

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade 3 salary range is $ 58,174.00 p.a. with progression to $ 64,211.00 p.a. on demonstrated competencies
  • Flexible working hours are available.
