PRINCIPAL GROWTH AREA PLANNER

- An attractive annualised salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate circa $100k - $110k (incl. super).

This role is responsible for the following:
- To take a leading role in managing, facilitating and project managing the planning approvals process, with a specific focus upon larger complex applications within the Growth Areas of Council, in an efficient, customer focused and timely manner.
- Mentor junior members of the team to aid in their development and management of larger complex applications.
- To implement the statutory planning responsibilities of the Council pursuant to the Mitchell Planning Scheme, the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other relevant legislation and Council’s corporate, strategic and economic policies and objectives.
To be successful in this role you will:
- A tertiary qualification in town planning or a related discipline, or eligibility for affiliate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).
- Proven ability to interpret and apply planning schemes, policies, legislation and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and mentoring to staff in a team environment.
- Extensive post graduate experience in a town planning role.
