The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available to improve the health and wellbeing of Moonee Valley’s residents, through providing advice and leading on Council’s local public health and wellbeing plans, strategies, projects and programs.

 

Reporting directly to the Coordinator Health and Young Communities and working collaboratively across Council, you will be accountable for:

  • Undertaking research, planning and social impact activities to inform Council’s health and wellbeing programs, policies and plans;
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating strategic documents, sustainable projects and programs, including the municipal public health and wellbeing plan, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation;
  • Advocating for improved health and wellbeing outcomes through networks, partnerships and submissions in response to emerging issues, ensuring the needs of community are known and promoted;
  • Maintaining strong collaborative relationships with health, wellbeing and community stakeholders;
  • Providing advice and recommendations to reduce health inequalities in Moonee Valley.

 

About You

To be suitable for this position, you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in health, social planning or impact, community development, social science or a related field, or have relevant substantial experience;
  • Experience in collaborative project and program design, implementation and measurement;
  • Sound knowledge of program logic and /or systems thinking, especially as they apply to municipal health and wellbeing outcomes;
  • Proven ability to implement preventative public health initiatives and measure health and social impact and outcomes;
  • Effective communication and data analysis skills.
