  • Position Classification: Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017 (Div. 2, S1)

Role Overview 

The Infrastructure Planning Officer plays a key role within Council to pre-execute planning of the design and delivery phases of civil and community infrastructure projects in support of the Councils 5 & 10 year Capital Works program. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse all projects within the 5 and 10 year capital works program
  • Coordinate preparation of projects briefs, project management plans and communications plans for the project planning phase of Council’s Capital Works program.
  • Identify community consultation and engagement requirements during the planning phase of projects to ensure projects are sensitive to the local Place context and meet corporate values.
  • Develop and/or coordinate the preparation of planning layouts, concepts, strategies and master plans including
  • Prepare feasibility assessments and options analysis of capital works infrastructure for future Capital Works Programs.
  • Liaise with other Council Departments, Government agencies and Council clients to ensure that projects are planned, coordinated and implemented in accordance with statutory obligations and Council objectives.
  • Provide advice to Councillors, Council staff and the public on project planning.
  • Foster an organisational culture which promotes teamwork, personal accountability and encourages continuous improvement
