He angitūtanga: The opportunity
With over 1,500 staff, our Regulatory Services division plays a critical part in keeping Tāmaki Makaurau safe and a great place to live. Every day we are consenting buildings, approving developments, responding to noise complaints, advising dog owners, and much more. Our division is entering a time of transformation and change as we look at how we can be more efficient, increase engagement, and support our team in delivering a fantastic customer experience to Aucklanders.

We are looking for two Senior Technical Instructional Designers to join the Regulatory team and help us make our processes simpler and more efficient. This role will see you design and build a blended learning solution, and developing training content for our process, policies, systems and performance expectations. You’ll work with leaders across the division to develop learning outcomes and objectives and design training activities suitable for their teams’ needs. You’ll also facilitate both technical and non-technical team training sessions and support our staff in uplifting their SAP capabilities. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you’ll ensure all our training resources are aligned with our learning principles and accurately reflect our business processes.

He kōrero mōu: About you
With at least five years’ previous experience working as an Instructional Designer, you’ll be confident in delivering a complex technology learning programme. Adept at navigating large and complex organisations, you’ll bring with you prior experience working in multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll be skilled at using e-learning authoring tools, thrive in a fast-paced project environment and have the proven ability to manage a classroom. You’ll have strong written communication skills – clear, well-structured and suitable for your intended audience.  You’ll also have the ability to quickly understand and translate process and technical content into end user language based on input from process maps, BA’s and subject matter experts.  Previous development and delivery experience with SAP or SuccessFactors (LMS), whilst not requisite, would be very useful. As this position will require you to occasionally travel around the region using Auckland Council vehicles, you must hold a valid and clean NZ driver’s license.
