About the opportunity Blacktown City Council represents one of Sydney’s largest and most diverse communities, with a strong focus on quality community services and a clear long term plan of growth and direction for the region. The Procurment and Governance section plays a key role in assisting Council to support the community through the delivery of consistent and quality programs, and providing leadership and governance in the areas of risk management, audit and compliance, ensuring that Council effectively manages its business risks and meets compliance and reporting targets. This role oversees the management of Councils Governance and Procurement section so as to meet the objectives of the Council in accordance with Council’s Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program, Operational Plan and Long Term Financial Plan, Resourcing Strategy, Policies, Resolutions, Operating Plans and Budget. A key elements of this role is ensuring that Council's fraud and corruption control mechanisms reflect best practice and are implemented across all Council operations and services.

Remuneration and benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
