The primary purpose of the position is to:
• Maintain and enhance Leeton Shire Council’s (LSC’s) Geographical Information system (GIS)
• Facilitate LSC’s master data management including data matching de-duplication, reconciliation and validation across core systems
• Lead and drive the collection and capturing of Works and Executed Plans in collaboration with Planning, Engineering and Property Services.
Leeton is a thriving community in the Western Riverina, being the birthplace of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and home to a significant manufacturing sector, excellent schools and a diverse array of sports, cultural and recreational opportunities.
The successful applicant will have proven experience managing GIS data and a working knowledge of and ability to administer corporate databases, particularly PostgreSQL server or MS SQL server. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills with the general public and fellow employees.
A Degree or equivalent 3 years’ experience in either GIS, Information Technology, Engineering or Asset Management is essential together with a demonstrated understanding of mobile GIS, Global Positioning System and field data collection and spatial database concepts.
Salary and Conditions: A salary between $75,306.40 to $84,338.80 per annum will be offered (depending on qualifications and experience) plus 9.5% superannuation. The position is 35 hours per week with a monthly rostered day off.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo Drug and Alcohol screening and a Medical Assessment.
