Approvals and Operations Officer


Are you an experienced administrator looking for variety in a great team environment? Then this role is for you. On any day you could be registering a food premises, checking an alcohol application for a restaurant or sending out a registration tag for someone's new puppy.

The Public Health Team is a regulatory unit of the Wellington City Council. We process applications for food and alcohol premises, register dogs and carry out inspections to ensure public health and safety. We also provide advice to customers on a wide range of regulatory matters and monitor compliance with legislation and bylaws. We pride ourselves on giving good advice, at the right time, to help our customers navigate their way through the regulatory processes.

This role is about providing efficient and competent administrative services to our customers and support to the team. You will be an experienced administrator used to juggling a variety of daily activities. You excel at providing great customer service. Your verbal and written communication skills are well developed and communication is clear especially when complex ideas are involved.

You may have a background in regulatory processes or debt management. You are highly motivated and take ownership in a team environment. You develop effective working relationships with your team and with customers.
