About the Opportunity

The Manager, Carbon Neutral Adelaide, based in Adelaide, will lead the direction, development and implementation of policies and programs that support the City of Adelaide’s strategic priorities regarding climate change mitigation, carbon neutrality, greenhouse gas emissions inventories, sustainability reporting, and related areas.

 

You will provide leadership and management of the seven member Carbon Neutral Adelaide Team, ensuring the delivery of high quality service to the Program, Council and our community. Specific programs that you will be responsible for include: Carbon Neutral Adelaide Partners Program, CitySwitch Green Office Program and the Sustainability Incentives Scheme.

 

Your ability to develop partnerships across the organisation, with government agencies, businesses and the community will be essential to successfully implement initiatives that meet Council’s strategic environmental objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Sound previous experience in a management role, preferably in a government setting;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and leading high performing teams to deliver significant environmental policy and project agendas;
  • Extensive experience with environmental strategy, policy and/or project delivery in one or more of the following areas: urban sustainability, climate change, greenhouse emissions reduction and reporting, and energy management.
  • A thorough understanding of urban sustainability issues relevant to Capital Cities.
  • A tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Law/Management/Economics, Sustainability or related field is essential for this position.
