About Us

Family and Children’s Services is responsible for the coordination, advice, education and delivery of a broad range of services for children and families from 0-17 years of age. This includes Childcare Services (long day, occasional and family day care), Kindergarten, Family Services, Maternal and Child Health and a Policy, Planning and Advocacy Team.


The Opportunity

The Kindergarten Services Unit strives to provide rich play based educational environments that inspire families in their child’s lifelong learning journey. We are seeking Casual Kindergarten Teachers to join a team of Educators committed to deliver quality education and care programs which provide for the individual needs of all children.


Situated within our casual pool, you will:

  • Assist staff in leading, implementing and monitoring play-based kindergarten programs;
  • Be available to work differing rostered shifts at various services within our municipality;
  • Maintain effective written and oral communication with families, children and other stakeholders;
  • Foster a supportive work environment and maintain positive and productive relationships with children, staff and families
  • Ensure legislative and reporting requirements are maintained at all times


About You

To be suitable for this casual position, you will possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), or other relevant approved ACECQA qualification;
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the legislative requirements, regulations and developmental frameworks within the early childhood sector, such as the National and State Early Years Learning Frameworks;
  • Understanding of Victoria’s Child Safe Standards and how to apply these in daily practice;
  • Experience in working in Early Years Services;
  • Current and valid Victorian Institute of Teachers registration (VIT) and/or Working with Children’s Check, Police Check, First Aid Level 2, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management.
