Family and Children’s Services is responsible for the coordination, advice, education and delivery of a broad range of services for children and families from 0-17 years of age. This includes Childcare Services (long day, occasional and family day care), Kindergarten, Family Services, Maternal and Child Health and a Policy, Planning and Advocacy Team.
The Kindergarten Services Unit strives to provide rich play based educational environments that inspire families in their child’s lifelong learning journey.
The Opportunity
Positioned within our Family & Children Services department, this role will see you accountable for leading and working as part of a team of Educators that are committed to ensuring the delivery of quality education and care programs that cater for the individual needs of all children within our community.
Reporting directly to the Kindergarten Team Leader and leading the Co-Educators, Students and Volunteers, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Developing a high-quality curriculum to enhance children’s learning and development;
- Developing and implementing programs that promote children’s learning across five learning outcomes;
- Ensuring each child’s learning and development is assessed as part of an ongoing cycle of planning, documentation and evaluation.
About You
To be suitable for this position, you will possess the following:
- Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), or other relevant approved ACECQA qualification;
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the legislative requirements, regulations and developmental frameworks within the early childhood sector, such as the National and State Early Years Learning Frameworks;
- Proven ability to deliver high quality contemporary educational programs;
- Current and valid Victorian Institute of Teachers registration (VIT) and/or Working with Children’s Check, Certified Supervisor Certificate, Police Check, First Aid Level 2, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management.
