About the opportunity

We are looking for 2 qualified, registered professionals to join our Property team and assist with Council's acquisition programs, including negotiating with relevant stakeholders, consultants, valuers, surveyors and solicitors.


You will ensure that acquisitions are undertaken in a timely manner to provide for the efficient delivery of facilities and infrastructure in accordance with the management plan.


Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Relevant qualifications in a property related field eg. Bachelor of Business in Land Economy, Conveyancing Advanced Diploma or equivalent
  • Registered under the provisions of the Valuers Registration Act 2003 or licensed to practice under the provisions of the Conveyancers Licensing Act 2000
  • Eligible for membership of appropriate professional organisation
  • Solid working experience in a similar position
  • Class C driver's licence
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn corporate applications
  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work within a team environment.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated Real Estate industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in statutory acquisition.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.


Remuneration and benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement

  • A competitive salary range of $1,466.00 - $1,641.90 (Grade 12) per week will be offered based on skills, qualifications and experience
  • Car allowance
  • 35 hour working week
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
